Question:

Land for Rent...What Price should I ask?

Ok, I have a 23 acre piece of land that I want to offer for rent to someone who would want to farm it. About 19 of the acres are actually tillable (the other 4 is wooded). The taxes are only $800 a year I want to be able to cover the taxes plus a little extra. Where would I find out the what a fair price would be to ask? Would $200-$300 a month be asking too little or too much? Where do I find this type of info?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. while there are house appraisers and business appraisers, there

are also bare land and farm appraisers.  Seek one out!

  2. It would depend on what the surrounding area is worth. But it sounds like you are asking way to small of rent for that much land.An appraiser can tell you more.
