Landesherr likely to claim Dorothy Laird Memorial Trophy Handicap (Ladies Races)
Landesherr is tipped to prevail in the Dorothy Laird Memorial Trophy Handicap (Ladies Races) at Beverley in England on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. He will have to outperform 16 other rivals in order to earn a cash prize of £1,617.
Stamina will be crucial in the 1 mile, 1 furlong and 207 yard event, which will start at 17:30 GMT. Most of the runners have been struggling for form over the past few months, which will give an edge to Landesherr, who has done pretty decently in recent
times.
Although the punters will have many other options, it will be better for them to go with a skilful runner like Landesherr, who has been given a starting price of 6 to 1 by the bookmakers.
The five-year-old gelding has been in the sport since April 2010, but has only managed to win once in his career. This is a touch disappointing for his fans, but he has got a solid chance of improving his record to some extent.
The start to the career of the Steve Gollings’ trainee was an impressive one, as he finished third in his first race of the career. Just one more event later, he managed to bring up his maiden victory, which was a pleasing sign for his team.
He was priced 7 to 2 back then and did an excellent job in the end, winning by six lengths. He only took part in three events that year and gave a lot of hope to his trainer and fans.
Things did not work out well for the young gelding in the next season, as he struggled to match his opponents on most of the occasions. He once again entered just three races, but failed to finish in the top three even once this time around.
Black Sam Bellamy’s son came back well in the 2012 season though and his performances have been a bit consistent now. He has secured a couple of runner up positions this year, which shows that he has improved a lot.

Landesherr’s last outing proved to be a very good one, as he finished second in it, which would have given him a lot of confidence. He is expected to break the shackles and win the second race of his career under jockey, Lucy Alexander.
