Landfall Monty all set for the 1890 269 969 A1 525 Final
Prevalent in the Grade A1 1890 269 A1 525 969 Final is two-year-old fawn dog, Landfall Monty. Racing over 525 yards flat on Wednesday, 3rd October, 2012 at Shelbourne Park are six versatile hounds who have their gaze glued at the €850 prize money.
Constraining his chances of success are Urban Artist, Glanmire Jet, Bulls Bolt, Lolos Hurricane and Market Littlejoe.
Crash’s son, Landfall Monty, won only through the last two outings of the debut season that began on 2nd July, 2012 at Limerick. Five brutal failures down the line got him bagging a back-to-back.
The two-year-old was entered as the evening’s favourite in the Grade A3 Dobbins @ Shelbourne A3 525 on 13th September, 2012 at Shelbourne Park over 525 yards.
Racing in the red jacket, he was quick to draw clear of the rest of the lot, and staying glued to the lead had him concluding the race in 29.03 seconds. Leading by the margin of 1 ½ length, cornered, Riverside Jackee, in the second position.
The third position was filled in by, Ferneys Screed.
His latest and second career success was in the Grade A1 1890 269 969 A1 525 Semi-Final on 26th September, 2012 at Shelbourne Park over 525 yards.
This time the two-year-old out of, Campions Folly, broke from the fifth gate, and was challenged at the beginning of the race. The troublesome journey allowed him to lead only near the line, and race past the wire in 28.97 seconds.
The winner left behind the rest of the lot by a length, and the one to hawk on to the second position was, Lolos Hurricane.
Winning even when breaking from entirely two different ends describes his ability of not being trap specific, and his adaptability to the race track taking it from either ends.
Landfall Monty has been allotted the sixth trap for the race tonight, and he has already proven himself when racing from the fifth trap.
The far outside will give him the chance to draw clear, cover up on the yards and avoid the traffic on the field.
He is backed by 4 to 1 odds.
