Does anyone know where I could get a list of airport's landing fees? Or should I just contact their FBO..

  1. I would contact the FBO itself. Some airports have them, some have abolished them altogether, and some have outrageous landing fees despite being an ultralight or a Heavy. I know here in Oklahoma City, there are three major airports - Max Westheimer in Norman, Will Rogers World Airport in OKC (where I work), and Wiley Post in Bethany. All are within approximately 10 miles as the crow flies of one another. At Westheimer, there are no landing fees as far as I know; at Will Rogers, it depends on the size of the aircraft as well as the duration of stay/services required; and at Wiley Post, they charge $100 whether you fly a gum-stick-sized sport aircraft or a Gulfstream 550. Hope this helps, and happy flying!

  2. I agree, AOPA is a good source.

Depends which country you're in too, but here in Australia we have a book called "ERSA" - or "En Route Supplement Australia" published that lists all the vital details of each airport - do you have a version of that?

Otherwise, contacting the FBO or airport management is probably best...good luck!

  3. The directory sent out every year by AOPA shows them.  Or call the FBO.

  4. the easiest and fastest thing to do would be to call their FBO, or the airport itself.

  5. go to aopa they will know all of that and help you out

  6. E mail the FAA in Washington DC.

  7. www.aopa.org has an online airport directory that sometimes lists fees. More often you have to call the FBO.

At smaller airports the fees are generally nominal and are waived if you purchase fuel. It's only when you fly to places like O'Hare that you get nailed. I pay about $130 to pick someone up at O'Hare in a single-engine private (non-charter) airplane.

If you're going into a bigger airport it's worth calling ALL the FBOs on the field as you'll often find huge differences in prices between FBOs that sit right next to each other.

To be honest, if you're flying around to distant airports whose landing fees you're not familiar with, then the fees are the least of your worries. Flying is an expensive hobby no matter how you cut it.
