Would it be possible to land a Cessna Grand Amphibian on a lake that's about 1250 feet from end to end?

Coordinates for the lake are here

40.295877, -79.729199

Thanks

  1. No!  You need open approaches and at least about 3,000 feet of flat, straight water.

  2. Since I have looked at the specs, I'd think so, but don't go off of my guess, I don't want anyone hurt

  3. DON"T

you will not be able to take off again.( talking about Cessna grand amphibian only)  not enough room for a takeoff run and especially if terrain around it is elevated

landing is no problem, you can stop within 700 feet if you get it right and raise the flaps as soon are you are down.

**edit* i just checked on google earth. you actually only have around 1022.327 feet of usable landing water

NO WAY man. forget it. you got trees all around it and it isn't even straight.  one side of it has trees and a hill and the other has a at least 3 story warehouse less than 200 feet off the end!

the water around sides of the middle right before where it makes a 20 degree turn might even be too shallow. after you land, you won't have enough space to make a turn without having to beach it and then turn it from shore either.

I just checked, the Cessna grand amphibian needs, when fully loaded, at least 2,500 feet on land!. resistance is even more in the water so you are likely to to need more.

  4. DO IT ******

  5. If you're any good as a pilot, I think so.  I can land a Cessna 172 or Cardinal in about 500 feet.
