Landlord, Drugs, Buying his house?

I've lived in this apartment duplex for a year now and we've lived here 3 times before since i was 5 and so we know the landlord very well. he does illegal drugs and i've called the cops saying that they were smoking, selling and growing illegal drugs.they didn't find anything. I know that he owes back taxes on this property and he's in trouble with the county about his yard(to clean it up). his house is always a diaster def. not safe, there is glass all over the yard, I'm always tripping over something and he the landlord but he's also my neighbor and he never fixes anything.the obvious answer is to move away but this place is very dear to me, and if iowned it, it would look great not only that but my dad passed away in this house last October. we cleaned up our part of yard and i wish we would have taken before and after pictures but we didn't, it was that bad.

Is there any way to take over ownership with all the information given and take it to court or something?

  1. No you can't. No one but the bank can take over a property.

You could, however, talk to your LL, maybe he'll consider selling it, if he's a druggie and having issues with finances, he's probably hard up on cash. and seeing as how he's owned it that long, it's more than likely paid off, so you could get a great deal on it.

    Worth looking into.

    sorry about your dad...

  2. No you have no right to take over someone elses property. Only the government can take over someones land and they have to take it for a reason not just to take over. I would move out and get away from this guy he sounds like bad news.

  3. The short answer is no.  Only governmental bodies have the right to take property from private owners, and even then it must follow a specific course of action.  You can offer to purchase the property or perhaps find out if the tax assessor plans to foreclose for the back taxes, and if so, then you will have an opportunity to purchase...along with many other investors and the bank holding the mortgage.

  4. No, nothing you have said, or even could say would make it legal for you to steal this guys property.

If you want it you need to offer to buy it from him.

  5. It's not the house it's the memories and you can take them with you.

Bring your memories with you to a better place:)
