I got a got pay with a check with no funds at the begining of the month and i just found out today when i got a call from my bank.

Do i have to charge extra only for the check with no funds or can i charge also for the late rent , since it is August 13 already and i am supposed to get my money on the 5th of every month... I am the landlord.

I am talking about a comercial property

  1. I would think that you are still entitled to get the rent  for August. In PA you could also charge a late fee and charge any fees that you incur from the bank for bounced check.

  2. ~~You should have a clause written in your lease agreement for late charges. Another one for bounced check charges. You are allowed to enforce whatever penalties you see fit as long as it is in writing and signed my the tenant.~~

  3. Late fees and all other fees (as allowed per the lease), and call up the tenant and nicely tell them this is unacceptable for the future.  Also if you don't get the money real soon you may want to begin eviction proceedings as this may be a really bad sign.
