My son and I had renting a home semi attached to my landlord for over 2 years. we had very few problems with him aside from a few noise complaints from him...( bachelorette parties and such over the years) I was served an eviction notice for reasons stating that himself and his wife wanted to renovate the home, tear down the wall and create a lager home for themselves using both spaces as one....as i result i had to move in 60 days, so i relocated and found a new place to rent used most of my savings to get the place (first last and movers feees) which i had been saving for that 2 years so i could get the down payemnt money to buy a home. so here i am wayyyyyy behind on many bills living in a place i can barely afford... and savings,...haha forget about it. Now heres the kicker, not even 2 months after he evicted me he puts in new floors and rent s the place out to someone else!! can he do that? lie on the form and force me to move ? Please someone help me out here i don't know what to do and i feel as if i had been taken advantage of.

  1. u can probably sue him for kicking you out under false pretences and as a result u had to blow all ur savings. it sounds like you have a pretty good case to me, u can sue so u can finally buy the home u need.

u should speak to a lawyer or something to see if u have a case but i hope u do. thats really nasty what he did to you.

good luck, hope everything works out

  2. he didn't evict you (that is a legal process involving the court).

sounds like he just invoked the terms of the lease that allowed him to end it.

you negotiated the lease, sounds like if you were there a long time and wanted to lock yourselves in longer, then you could have negotiated a new lease.

60 days notice is pretty generous in the scheme of things, most people only get 30.

what he does with his property once it has no lease is his business not yours.

  3. I know the way you feel, but unfortunately..

people these days are just like that.

When he decided to serve you, that meant that he basically wanted you out.

It was his property, he can evict & rent to anybody he wants to.

I know this sounds unfair but thats just the way it is.

Once you were out, he decided to rent it to somebody else hm?

It sounds to me like he just wanted you out of his property?

    No offense though.

    Good luck =/
