Landlord selling house what rights do we have as renters? Do realestate people have to work with us?

can real estate people just give tours whenever they want? were still paying rent, what is our rights when landlord is selling and we still live in the house and paying rent?

  1. State laws differ, but in Fl. the are suppose to give you at least a 24 hr. notice before entering your premises. As long as you have a lease you can live there for the term of the lease. Other than that you have 30 days from eviction notice to vacate property and no the real estate people do not have to work with you to find a new place. Most will just for the business. GOOD LUCK


  2. You can also go to your local library and ask for a book on Landlord/Tenant Laws for your State. You will find that as a Renter you have Lot's of rights. I would also contact an Attorney and find out about the rent, I think it's wrong to pay rent as he sells it out from under you.

  3. If you and your landlord didn't have some kind of contract (official or unofficial) I don't think there is anything you can do. But if you have a contract for a set date range then you can take it to court and you'd most probably win.
