The Frenchman feels that the loss to the reigning champions, Montpellier Herault SC, was a big disappointment, despite Eden Ben Basat’s early goal giving the Brest-based club an early lead at the Stade Francis-Le Ble
Stade Brestois 29 were left shocked as they were defeated by Montpellier Herault SC at the Stade Francis-Le Ble. The Brest-based club was hoping to secure all three points against the visitor. But to Landry Chauvin’s dismay, the Ligue 1 reigning champions
struck twice to leave them empty handed.
Landry Chauvin was ecstatic when Eden Ben Basat scored for Stade Brestois 29 in the 14th minute against the defending champions. However, the celebration was short-lived as La Paillade fought back to earn themselves an equalizer, followed by winner
scored by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Utaka-c18898. The Frenchman expressed his feelings after the game:
"We started exactly how we'd wanted, and scored first, even if we stood off too much in the first half. In the second, we showed more aggression, but there was no movement.”
The tactician found his team’s performance to be a poor display of football and termed it as disorganised. The former footballer was bitterly disappointed with his players. He said:
“It was a disorganised, mediocre second half. It's a big disappointment, because it feels like we've gone back some months.”
The coach feels afraid to admit that the fixtures ahead are an uphill battle for the Ligue 1 club, starting from hosting Sochaux in their upcoming fixture. Chauvin hopes that the players can find that lost spark in them and are able to give a good performance.
The 43-year-old said:
“We've now got a match on a knife edge at Sochaux on Saturday. I hope we'll show other qualities, because if we don't, we're going to suffer a real disappointment. We saw the limits of the squad, which worries me. We didn't show what we wanted to do, we
hid."
Brest would be playing against a mix of relegation stricken and title contending clubs in their next few fixtures, including FC Sochaux-Montbeliard, Paris Saint-Germain, Evian TG, AS Saint-Etienne and Troyes respectively.
