Langley likely to stand first in Champagne Joseph Perrier Handicap
It is hoped that the gruelling training session of last five months will surely pay the Tim Vaughan trained bay gelding, Langley, off when he runs the Champagne Joseph Perrier Handicap here at Salisbury racecourse on Wednesday, August 15.
The five-year-old veteran horse is expected to make a strong comeback on the good to firm track of 1 mile, 1 furlong and 198 yards. For the sake of the prize money worth £2,588, he will compete against 13 worthy rivals.
Langley has won 4 of his total 24 starts so far. On October 12, 2011, he nicely finished as the runner-up in the Betdaq Multiples Claiming Stakes, held at Kempton.
The Gestut Hof Ittlingen bred brilliant gelding marvellously grabbed a grand victory in the Oddschecker.com Handicap Hurdle that took place at Ffos las on December 26. He gained a lot of momentum by winning the Next Fixture January 17th Handicap Hurdle at
Folkestone on January 2, 2012.
The talented son of Trempolino out of Late Night finished second in the 8-running race of the Support The Pride of Cumbria Handicap Hurdle. That race took place at Sedgefield on January 5.
Thus, Langley will be able to enjoy good time today. If he manages to keep his confidence level intact, he will have up to 90 percent chances to thrive.
South Cape looks to be another strong candidate on the card. The Gary Moore trained bay gelding has been winless since long, but he delivered some decent performances during the last month.
On July 1, 2012, the son of Cape Cross out of Aunt Ruby finished 3rd in the 12-runner event of the K J Pike & Sons Ltd Handicap that was held at Salisbury. He moved on to finish 3rd in each of the two subsequent starts at Brighton and
Sandown.
As a whole, the Heart Of The South Racing owned 74-race veteran horse has 9 epic triumphs to his name.
This situation does not augur well for Langley. Success will require extra-ordinary performance. Let us see who dares to win. A large crowd of the sport lovers will make up to the venue to catch the live action.
