Language Scripts?!? For other languages...?

Question

I used to have something on my computer that was able to read any language and show it in it's respectful way. Whether it be Mandarin or Japanese or korean etc etc now all I see is either boxes or boxes with numbers in the box.

How can I get something that read all languages and shows it in the language and is free. O.o
