Language arts homework please ASAP?

Okay the directions says "Rewrite these sentences, correcting inconsistencies in verb tense"

I seemed to either missed it in these sentences and can't find it.

2. Sometimes in winter the snow drifts are so deep that the institution was cut off from the village below.

3. One day I worked until nearly dark. I go outside the cabin.

Please don't say "go look in your LA network book" because I don't have one and the textbook only has questions and stories, nothing that can help me (expect for writing essays)

3. go   =  went

was is past tense and the sentence is talking about present tense so number 1 should be is ...

go should be went because go is present tense and the two sentences are referring to past tense.
