  1. Greek.Even if Cyprus has it is own language it almost the same to the Greek I mean if you want to say in Greek:Hi!What are you doing your are going to say Γειά , τί κάνεις ; But if you are a Cypriot you are going to say Γειά είντα που κάνεις;

    But you can still talk in Greek and they will answer in Cypriot because they have only a few differents.

  2. greek/english

  3. If it's on the Greek side of Cyprus, they would speak Greek.  My father in law is from Cyprus (the Greek side).  He grew up speaking Greek.

    If it's on the Turkish side, they would speak Turkish.

  4. most people will speak english but i think you will find that greek is their first langauge.

    its a great island and you will have a great time.

  5. Well, over here in Cyprus, English is widely spoken, and Greek obviously is the mother tongue, , but it has to be said, in the smaller villages, although Greek is widely spoken, it is a type of 'slang' Greek. Generally, you won't have a problem speaking English....but don't bother trying out your smattering of Greek on any of the waiters/waitresses etc.....most of them are Polish/Bulgarian/Russsian!!!

    Have a great holiday!!!

  6. The language spoken in Cyprus is Greek, actually it's a Greek dialect - archaic dialect, for example if you know Greek ( from Greece) you will find it difficult to understand Greek - Cypriot. But most people are pretty fluent in English.

  7. I got back from Queen's Bay yesterday.It's round the corner from Coral Bay.They speak Greek but English is widely spoken in any touristy restaurants,hotels,bars etc.They also drive on the left and use the Euro.

  8. Greek

  9. the language there is greek
