  1. Hello there.

Here is a recent review from someone who posted a review on Holiday watchdog for you. They rated it 9/10 which is pretty decent.

Just returned and I must say, thanks to all the previous reviews, we wasn't disappointed.

We booked late and got a good deal with separate flights and accommodation and it's only 10 mins and 11 euros away from the airport so no waiting around for a coach if you've booked a package holiday, it's not worth the wait.

The room we had was excellent and looked brand new in the fact that it had spotless walls and ceiling - no mucky and grimy marks to be seen and there was nothing to feel the need to complain about. Maid service 5 days a week was good and there was also a security guard available at night to escort you back if you really wanted, don't let this put you off as it was very well lit and we felt totally safe even late at night and also had security cameras/lights for great peace of mind. The pool area was nice and relaxed with great food/service at the snack bar at decent prices, and there is another pool at the top of the complex but don't think that had a snack bar open.

A Spar shop is right next to the complex which is well stocked and there is a Restaurant sign on the complex but I think that is "work in progress" and also a gym which wasn't mentioned on the hotel website but it's no big deal as only the treadmill was working out of all the other equipment - nice touch for a 2 key when it all gets completed.

The main resort front is a short 3 min stroll down a one way street where you will be facing the resorts Casino with the restaurant above it and the Golden Corner to the left which I have to recommend as it does fantastic breakfasts. Basically, if you make your way to the strip from the apartments and turn left then you have the more relaxed side of Del Carmen or if you turn right and walk up to the Playas (where the beach is) then its the more lively area, complete with a few bar touts if you can put up with them.

We also took a drive on the last day in the hire car up to the Timanfaya National Park, wow - it was a fantastic sight but a slightly nervous drive due to the narrow roads and sheer drops in places, certainly got my heart racing. We didn't pay to go to the visitors centre as we didn't have time but the views of the volcano's and the lunar landscape were amazing to see.

I can honestly recommend the Atalaya Apts to anyone for its cleanliness, friendly atmosphere and the location, you won't be disappointed

  4. The most northeasterly of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote has embraced the tourism boom with a more laid-back feel than its popular sister islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Nature is still a big attraction on this small volcanic island, camels are often used to transport goods. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/balearic_canar... for more details
