The former FC Barcelona President believes that Paris Saint-Germain needs to apply Blaugrana’s philosophy in order to become one of the greatest clubs in history
Joan Laporta insisted that Paris Saint-Germain must follow FC Barcelona’s lead, if they’re to develop into one of the best sides in Europe. The Ex-Barcelona President thinks that the Paris-based club is similar to that of the Catalan giants, and can easily
adopt their philosophy regarding football.

The club’s finance injected with huge reserves of cash resembling those of Manchester City and Chelsea, for the purpose of luring the best players
to the Parc des Princes. The French outfit has been compared with Europe’s elite clubs, Manchester United, AC Milan, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona
Ex-Barcelona President, Joan Laporta thinks that there is a great degree of resemblance between the two cities and their clubs. The Spaniard also went on to praise the beauty of the French capital, finding it to be a mirror image of his native town, Barcelona.
He said:
"Barcelona and Paris are alike. These cities are characterised by their love of beauty.”
The former supremo believes that Les Parisiens are much like Barcelona, and can easily replicate their long-term strategy. The 50-year-old wants the Ligue 1 outfit to focus on improving their quality of football, rather than signing world-class players for
their roster. The Spaniard explained:
“PSG must adopt the philosophy of Barcelona. I respect the investments of PSG but, in my opinion, it should be done with a single idea in mind: the spectacle.”

The Catalonia-based politician explained that the beauty of the game should be the focal point for a team, instead of good results. The

“The philosophy was that of Cruyff and it was probably the most important measure. It was essential to have a clear vision of where we were going. We had lost that spirit. The idea was to recover beauty before results.”
The Spaniard added:
“Philosophy and image as priorities. That's the key.”
