  1. Most companies will allow you a grace period before they re-rate you as uninsured.  I would call progressive and make you payment.  If you have a loss you will not have insurance coverage at all until payment has been received.  I hop this helps.  Good Luck

  2. Well, you're NOT insured, actually!!  You're LAPSED!!  You'll have to rewrite the policy, and Progressive will uprate you if you let the lapse go more than 29 days.

  3. Just send in the premium payment and your policy will be reinstated.

You can call Progressive, and they can accept your payment over the phone, if you have a checking account. Or, If you have a local agent, just go to his/her office and your payment can be uploaded to the company. But a local agent cannot accept your payment if you are insured by Progressive Direct.

If you wait more than 29 days to make your payment, your policy will have to be rewritten, and reunderwritten. If you are currently insured on a standard or preferred policy, and you wait more than 29 days to reinstate, you will be reclassified, and the rate will increase.

Just remember that you don't have coverage until your payment is received. There is no grace period on a motocycle or auto policy.

  4. Auto insurances almost always give a grace period, usually a couple of weeks, although it may depend on the company.

4 days is not a big deal. I would just pay them online, or over the phone. If they haven't received it in a few days, they will send a note reminding you.

If something happened they will still cover you as soon as you pay, provided it's not too long.

  5. if its only been a 4 day lapse they should be able to reinstate your policy back to the day of the lapse.  they will have you sign a statement of no loss (meaning you have not and will not make any claims during the lapse period), and you will have to pay your premium up to date and probably a reinstatement fee as well.  call your agent and get it put back in force.
