I was sitting awkwardly in a chair with my laptop and I think I pressed on opposite corners, perhaps separating something internally. My screen went haywire, splitting into lines that rand up and down, very wavy. Naturally I shut it off. The screen has never turned back on. I attempted hooking up an external screen to see if it was the LCD itself, but that didn't work, so I assume it is the video portion of the motherboard itself. Sound about right? Using my rudimentary knowledge, I dismantled the case, but was unable to find any obvious internal damage, like something being unplugged or snapped. The computer will boot up, there is simply no display. If it is the motherboard, should I attempt to change it out on my own, or take that in to a professional?
