Laptop batteries Is it advisable to always leave my battery in even when I am plugged into mains?

No...whilst it's good to have it in there as a backup, in case your supply goes off for whatever reason, it can actually decrease the amount of racharge cycles the battery is capable of...

The heat is bad for it! The best place it can be is in a sealed freezer bag, then put in the fridge...that is the optimum temperature, and will get you the most battery life...

However, it's not a massive difference and, like I said, it could damage your laptop if the supply goes off/comes unplugged, and you have no battery...and bye bye work!
