Laptop battery charging?

Question

i have a laptop with li ion battery. is it ok to use it on ac power even when the battery has completely charged. Or should i use it on battery after 100% charging and den again charge it after charge is 10%

from personal experience for last 5 yrs i have never taken out he battery from my laptop   COMPAQ always plugged in and never shut off   few months ago no electric ran good for 2.1/2 hrs on battery

It's perfectly fine to leave a Li-Ion battery to trickle charge and in fact the best way to treat Li-Ion batteries is to run your computer on AC at every chance you get (that way you aren't cycling the battery).

Discharging the battery constantly can ruin it (a discharge every few months to recalibrate the battery meter is a good idea but all it'll do is make the runtime estimate the computer gives accurate, it won't improve the battery).  Still, if you need the full capacity of the battery you can still run it empty (just don't make a habit of it or do it more than necessary).
