Laptop charger point broken?

I have an old dell inspiron laptop (its about 3-ish years old) it started to stop charging, so we figured the wire had a loose wire in the cable we bought a new cable and that didn't fix it, so then we got a battery - that didn't fix it! A few months later the actual bit you plug it into snapped off inside (i think its called a jack?) It has a lot of pictures i'd like to get off it, but as it's completely flat, i was wondering if there was a USB battery that i could just use to get my pictures off?

Thanks :)

  1. i do experience the same problem as my lappie.

well i recommend you to bring your laptop to a certified computer technician.

because the power wire socket point in your laptop has broke. if i were to repair the laptop problem, i need to use soldering technique.

it is a quite a difficult problem. even if you bring the laptop back to Dell. they wpont entertain you much.

if your pictures are very important, i recommend you to get a 2.5 inch external Hdd casing. you may open up the HDD of your dell laptop. and load into the external casing. then plug in your external drive to your "working" PC can transfer your favourite pictures.

  2. buy new laptop ^^ if the jack is broken and if you already change the battery and the cable for it better buy new one

  3. Short of paying someone else to repair the power socket, your best bet would be find someone with the same model laptop or a dockisng station.

Use their laptop to charge your battery, or plug your laptop onto the docking station IS it has it's own power feed.
