Laptop freezing for no reason ?

I have toshiba laptop with windows xp when i turn it on it loads normally i type in my password and when i get to the desktop and attempt to click on an icon it freezes and wont let me do anything so i restart it and the same thing happns whats going on?

  1. Click start then My Computer.Right click C.-Properties -Tools.Click check

    now and tick top first Automatically fix etc and then the bottom one.Scan

    for and attempt recover of bad sectors.

  3. The usual causes of freezing are a software fault (this would freeze at same point always), ram chip fault (random freezes), cpu fault (random freezes but usually after it has been turned on for some time) or even a motherboard fault http://www.trilogicuk.co.uk

  4. When it freezes again, press the Ctrl Alt and Del keys.
