Laptop mouse should be included?

I am just wondering what people's opinions are regarding a laptop mouse. I think laptops should include them in the box since it is essential to the operation of the laptop. i mean who can use the pad to navigate for a long time? do you think it's a rip off that laptops don't come with a mouse? I just spent like 100 dollars on laptop accesories, byw, all the stuffs I got were necessities and they were the cheapest ones. do any of you think it's ridiculous? when I bought my desk top, I only boght a more comfortable mousepad and a couple of floppy disks, well that was 10 years ago.

all laptops do come with a on board mouse !

A mouse is useless on your lap so there's no point including one with a laptop computer.

Instead of including a mouse with the computer they should just give the computer a pointing stick (and remove the touchpad if having both costs too much) which is a superior mobile pointing device to a touchpad (and actually usable as primary pointing device, if I had a laptop with only a touchpad I'd probably be getting a mouse for use when it's on a desk).

But touchpads are cheaper than pointing sticks so...
