Laptop no longer picking up wireless signal?

Question

It was working fine a week ago....now it won't pick up signal, or it does and its only local, and you can't do anything with local...so what happened? how do i fix it?

(Please make an educated suggestion before saying contact anyone....)

problem could be in your wireless card, if less than a year old its best if you contact your manufacturer, just leave the problem to them, unless you want to open up your laptop and void the warranty.

that's the same thing that happened to mine and it sill won't work

Go to a restaurant/business that has wi-fi and see if it works there.  Or ask other people if there's is working.  What kind of wireless card do you have in your laptop?  Also make sure wireless is turned on.  Last year I spent an hour trying to fix my computer because I thought the wireless was broken and realized that I accidently hit a couple of keys and turned it off...
