Laptop not charging?

My laptop for some reason charges then stops and then charges again. Moving it around has no effect. It doesn't seem to be burning or anything. I can't tell if it's the charger on because if there's a little crack (Wires visible) on the end of the cord that plugs into the laptop.

  1. 1 Run CHKDSK, it restores missing files.

2 Place the recovery CD into the tray, close the menu window when it shows, enter "sfc /scannow" into the run commands, it will scan the cd  replacing any missing or corrupt system files back onto your computer, keep clicking 'Retry' if your prompt untill the scan is complete.

  2. If you know that your battery is good, then you need to establish if your lappy will run on the power supply. if the machine will run on the power supply the you have to asume that your battery is charging.

run the battery dead flat and try again.

  3. That happened to my gateway, turned out the battery was broken. In the end it ended up not charging at all :( It's been 2 months and it still hasn't gotten fixed, but you may want to check the electrical current in your battery, if someone you know or you knows how to do that.

  4. Maybe is the Charger as you said try another charger just be sure that is the same characteristics of the faulty one.
