Laptop not reading disc media - Computer urgent help?

Question

I have a fujitsu laptop estimated 4 years old & all of a sudden for some reason it does not read Audio or Blank discs it reads DVD but that is it, its a DVD-R drive.

when i put in a blank or audio cd i hear it spinning but its different from usual & it obliviously doesn't read.

Please Help Me

not being funny - are you putting the cdr's in the right way up

Get a new laptop. Sorry.

Mine did this after two years, played genuine DVD's fine but would do nothing with blanks.

not worth repairing these days with computers so cheap now.

Hi

Not being funny, and just a thought, have you wiped the disc.  Just in case it has finger marks on etc.
