Laptop passwords

mr cropp, my girlfriend got this laptop for christmas she knows NOTHING about computers.she s trying .the last time she had it on it worked fine she said .when she opens the laptop it promps for password she cant remember her password can you help me help her get back into the computer? thank you ,, Misha
