Laptop question?????

Question

i have a HP DV6933CL. The sticker on the laptop says Intel Centrino, but the box and when I look at the properties of the laptop it says I have a Intel Core 2 Duo CPU. Why does it have a different sticker on it?

And when I look at the model number at the sticker under the laptop it says DV6933CL, but under model number on the properties, it says DV6700. I know it's a DV6000 series, but why does it say DV6700?

Centrino is not a processor, it is the name for  a laptop with any combination of a Intel core 2 duo cpu and an Intel wireless card.

Your computer is a dv6000 series, which all use the same basic parts. Your 6933cl uses just about all the same parts but the graphics card, which means that they can just use the rest of the parts off the 6700 assembly line, which makes it just a renamed 6700. They only call it the 6933cl so that its clear to us that they arent the same, that the 6933cl has something that is worth giving it a different name. If they were both 6700s, like 6710 and 6720, most people would not be able to tell there was an important difference.

Dear, the Intel Centrino its the Mobile Technology of Core 2 Duo, for notebooks and notepads. About the Model of your HP, its a DV6000 series, that includes DV6700 and another models, such as your DV6700, get it ?

They probably ran out of stickers....like my thinkpad....

it just says graphics by nvidia....but it has a workstation card inside....

Centrino is a technology that is composed of speedstep and apm (advanced power management), which is present on all laptops post pentium 4.

You have a C2D chip.  Centrino is simply the "branding" of the mobile chips.

Its letting you know you have a Laptop Core 2 Duo instead of a Desktop Core 2 Duo.
