Laptop reformat question..?

so i have this laptop that my mom got from her work that they dont want anymore, and everything on it is locked, so i cant reformat.

I need to reformat for two reasons, one it is slow as helllll and it takes 10 minutes to get on internet explorer from shut down. second i need to install a wireless card.

How can i reformat it? i have a spare laptop harddrive here that im not sure works, but even if it did, i have no idea how to get the HD out of this latitude pp01l.

i do have a 2gb flash drive though, could i use that to reformat the HD?

last question that really isnt important, but whenever the laptop isnt plugged into a power source it doesnt power in at all.

get that sucker to boot into dos mode make a bootable possibly with that flash drive

there's a great site for that use google and type in make bootable have boot discs for almost any type of os installation.

Put WIndows CD in and restart the computer. When asked, start from CD to reinstall Windows.

The battery is simply dead. You need to get another one.
