I have a compaq V3015NR. It is about a year and a half old. I noticed
that about a month or so ago I couldn't get the wireless to work. It
wouldn't turn on. About a month after that is when this started to
happen. It will be working just fine and all of a sudden it will go
black (the screen). The keyboard lights are still on and running but
the whole computer is dead. It won't react to anything. I got worried
and looked it up on HP's website and they said to check the DC power
plugin. So, I did and what do you know it rebooted it's self, and then
was fine for a little bit. How ever it did it again, this time it is
showing the same details as last time but the DC jack thing aint
working. It is acting really wierd too. It will be on, black screen,
not showing any signs of life, I mean none but it is on, the keyboard
lights are on. If I shut it off and then take my finger and touch the
touch pad at the top of the keyboard that has my volume, mute, and I
think reboot or restart. It will suddenly come back on, REMEMBER I
TURNED IT OFF. What is going on? I repair desktops all day and can
say I have never ran into this. Does anyone have any idea as to what
this is? I was thinking that mabey it was a BIOS problem, or a DC Jack
problem, and I hope that last but not least it's a MOBO problem.
Please let me know what you think PLEASE. I don't have the money to
send it in and I can't afford a new one. I will probably end up
repairing it myself as usual.
