Laptop scroll doesn't work?

I have a dell inspiron and the finger scroll thing on the mouse pad thing (I'm sorry.. Idk what they're called) doesn't work. It's the thing on the right side and bottom of the mouse pad. Neither work. It stops working every now and then and usually works if I turn off the computer and turn it back on, but not this time. Do you know how I can make it work? It's getting really annoying having to actually click the bar on the website and drag the page down. (;

Dell should have a driver download on the support page for your laptop that will enable this. Step one should probably be to reload the driver and see if that corrects the problem.
