I own a IBM ThinkPad 380Z, ThinkPad T20 and a ThinkPad T40 and I'm wanting to hook up my 380Z to my Tv. I've turned my ThinkPad 380Z into a Desktop working way since it is bigger than my other 2 laptops and have a Wireless Mouse + Keyboard for it. I orderd a VGA/AV Cable for it and pluged it in and I get no display on the Tv. The Cable's one end is VGA while the other is a S Video and one yellow AV. My Tv don't have any AV nor S Video Ports on it. It has the wholes on the back of the Tv for a set of 4 row AV plug in's but they must of not added them to it. So the VCR is the only way I can play my games and DVD player on the Tv. My Tv is a SANYO 32", a Basic Tv not a LCD. and so I took it out in the living room Tv witch is a newier SANYO Flat Screen Tv, "Not LCD" and I pluged in my 380Z and put it on INPUT 1 and I get the display of the laptop but I just get a blurr small line that streches to top and bottom in the middle of the tv witch can see alittle of what is displayed. So I pluged in the T20 and same resalt and then T40, same too. So I pluged it into the only LCD tv I have witch is my PSone and it comes out the same to. So I don't think I need a LCD tv for it to work. and I've seen it done on these tvs before.
