Laptop troubleshooting. My husband works via a vpn virtual server n is unable to access his archives from Engl

Question

When we do a self help check everything check ok. If his on his longdistance server he is unable to access the net but if he disconnects then he is able to connect but is still not able to retrieve a certain archive file. Help....

They are not allowing split tunneling.  When you connect on the VPN, the only thing you can access is the remote network, nothing else.
