Laptop won't connect to Internet connected to a Public WiFi?

Status: Connected to a Public WiFi

Speed: 11 Mbps

Signal Strenght: All bars full !!!

I have no idea. what could it be???

Right click on wireless icon in bottom right hand task bar pane

-> View available wireless networks -> change advanced settings -> Open Wireless Networks Tab -> Select your connection -> select properties -> Make sure that "This is a computer-to-computer (adhoc) network" checkbox is NOT checked

have you gotten all the info to connect to the wifi? some wifi hot spots might only be accessible to certain subscribers that can connect to the public wifi such as ATT. Don't assume that wifi is always free.

clear your network  connection list  , this hold all the passed network  you have  connect to .

OK, you connect to the AP (access point), that fine; but the AP has to be connected to Internet, right? These are two "spans". Sometimes, the AP doesn't have Internet connection, and sometimes, the AP has some restriction on Internet access, such like "all unknown users can't get Internet". I'm working for a network product manufacturer so I know that's configurable.

I just bought my laptop a week ago, and my wireless worked well, until three days ago. I got the alert that I had limited access. I looked online by using another computer which worked perfectly. I tried everything I found and nothing worked. I nearly decided to return my computer to factory state. I happened to find the media backup cd's I made along with my OS disk. I tried re-installing my wireless driver installer, and I connected right away. It's a simple solution if you made back-up cd's, It might not  be much, but it amazingly worked. If you have media backup cd's, I'd recommend trying to re-install your wireless driver installer(not just un-installing and re-installing your driver from device manager, didn't work for me). I'm not sure if this will help, not sure what your situation is but, I did this just earlier today and it works perfectly. Hope it helps at all, or, to anyone.
