Laptop won't log on desktop....?

I'm on my living room computer right now. My laptop isn't logging on the desktop for some reason... I've tried rebooting, but nope. Didn't work.

When I try to log on the desktop, it just shows the background of my desktop, NOTHING ELSE.

  1. you have a virus.


  2. did you unplug your router, wait and plug it back in before re-booting?

  3. What program are you using to do a remote desktop?

    You log onto it but all you can see is the background and no icons?

    Can you see the start button?

    How are you hooking up to this PC?
