Question:

Laptop won't turn on?

I hit my laptop against a door (genlty, accidentally) and it immediately lost power and won't turn on. It doesn't light up or show any signs of a power source when when plugged in, and pushing the power button does nothing. I think something internal was knocked loose. Any ideas?

Thanks so much

  1. Plug it into AC power and see if that works.  If not you might as well take it to the shop

  2. maybe your battery has come loose?

  3. I think you should call the company and ask them to see whats the problem and they could fix it. To call it should be in the instruction book.

  4. Something probably got julted loose...

First, it's worth a try to unplug both AC power and the battery for 5-10 minutes in case it needs to be "reset"...there's a (slight) chance that could fix it.

I know I dropped a laptop from about 6 feet (I tripped going into the men's room) and it broke the frame so the screen flopped around but the computer still worked fine...then I know of people who have simply had it tip over (say leaning against a wall) and they quit.

Call the manufacturer and see what they have to say...hopefully it's something simple.
