My laptop detects networks that normally work and connect to them, but Firefox and IE wont load any pages. Everything worked fine until a few days ago. When I try to diagnose the issue Vista says no problems have been detected. Very weird, can anyone help?

  1. Try running the Internet Connection wizard again.  It's under the Tools menu in IE, Internet options, connections tab.

  2. Just reset the router, and restart the comp, or just wait a little bit. Our vista laptop has the same problem some times, but it always goes away shortly. If your problem persists, scan for viruses, and bring it to your local electronic store and they'll take a look at it.

  3. if its a wireless connection it could be that your cards drivers need updating or re-installing . but need more specific info.

  4. is it a work PC?  do you have a proxy server setup?

Could be winsock corruption...  Download a winsock fix or if you feel confident enough, delete the registry keys yourself and reboot.

  5. I know there is no issues in ur laptop. This is very simple. Ur problem is that u can connect with the network but u couldnt browse right?

Now go to My network properties u can find ur pc has connected with the network but a cross mark over the internet line. just click on the cross mark. it will diagnose and it will give some option if it gives the option like reset ur "Wireless network adaptor" please select the options.

Now also if u cant get it means. Try this option. Go to My network properties a new window will come.In that new window, in left hand side u can find the link "Manage Wireless Networks". Then remove all the network names in the list. Then after clearing all that things just diasble and again enable ur wireless card by using the switch which is present in ur laptop. Again go to start-> Run->services.msc In the services window(in right hand side) u can find the DHCP service Right click over DHCP and make restart. If it ask for the permission click yes. Now try to find the IE for browsing. These are all the options will find in Windows Vista. Thanks.
