my laptop is a Toshiba equium a200 and has vista on it, this problem started only this week, anytime i close the lid the and the monitor goes off (i know this because when i open it again its off and lights up), but the laptop it self doesnt go off, the fans stay on i can hear them and if i take the charger out the battery dies after a while thats the only way it goes off. the only solutions i found was to keep the charger in all the time but i can always hear the fans and its a waste of electric, or i could shut it down everytime im done but it takes time starting it up again.
