Laptop wont power up with Battery Installed

Question

I bought a new battery thinking I needed one since when plugged in the laptop just flashed the orange light in front. The laptop works fine when plugged in and the battery is not installed.

laptop wont turn on i think i need a new battery but i cant locate a replacement.
