Laptops? (Opinion Question)?

Ok, so I want a laptop! I know I don't want any Apple related kind of thing (Mac Book Air, etc.) I'm thinking in the range of Dell, and HP. I need a laptop that can hold a lot of images/files/music, and can hold programs such as Photoshop. I also don't want a huge bulky laptop, and I probably wont be using it outside of my house. Oh, and I'm really trying not to spend a lot of money (I know, laptops can be expensive. But I try to save as much money as possible.) What would be a good choice? Who do you think is better, HP or Dell? Why?

I also have another question; What does GHz effect? (I mean like, the more GHz you have the more...)

Some laptops I have come across;

Dell Inspiron 1525 (Normal Reviews)

Dell Studio 15 (Didn't Read Reviews.)

HP Pavilion dv9700t series (Extremely good reviews.)

  1. 1. I think that Dell would be your best option, the reason is because they have a variety of good systems and some of them are cheap plus they have very good warranty deals.

    2. GHz is how fast a CPU (Central Processing Unit) is. The more GHz you have the faster the computer is.

3.When you are looking for a Laptop  for Photo Shop you would need AT LEAST:

    1. 1.73GHz (CPU) DO NOT GET A CELERON!!!!

    2. 1GB (1GB = 1024MB) of RAM(Ramdom Access Memory)

    3. 80GB Hard drive.

    4. 128MB Video Graphics Card.

The laptop I would recomend is a Dell Inspiron 1525 with an Intel Pentium Dual Core T2390 1.86GHz. about $600.

DO NOT GET A CELERON!!! It is a very slow CPU.

  2. I like Dell because of their good customer service and cheap prices.

I have used several Dell Inspirons over the years and found them to be really reliable. The screens on the HPs r way too glossy and reflect light like a mirror which really tires your eyes out!

GHz affects the speed of your computer...If u don't play games then it really doesn't matter, almost any new system will be plenty fast. What u really want is a big hard drive for pictures and music...the bigger the better! Also lots of ram (3Gig) for Photoshop.

FYI: Dell also offers student discounts.

  3. i am using dell inspiron1525... it is good..

i bought it for 37000 rupees($925)...some of the feature are like

    processor:intel c2d

    processor speed:2ghz

    os:windows vista

    ram:2gb

    hard disk:160gb

and it is in many colours

  4. the hp pavilion is perfect, im on one right now, they low price and always beat dell for price vs. speed. i think hp is the best brand out there, and dell is only good for buisneses that have the money.
