Lara Jackson wins Women’s 50m freestyle heat - 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals
Day three of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals began in scintillating fashion with the splash of FORDAZ’ swimmer, Laura Jackson in the preliminary heat at Paloalto, California, on Thursday, August 4.
The session of the meet held the Women’s 50m freestyle heat, where Lara Jackson took home the crown while Nathan Adrian of CALPC won the Men’s 50m freestyle prelims.
At the beginning, Lara Jackson hit the finishing wall in 25.11 seconds to win the Women’s 50m freestyle heat. Meanwhile, Amanda Weir of SAGA wound up second in a time of 25.20 seconds, whereas, Kate Dwelley of STANPC rounded out the top three on the podium
in 25.21 seconds.
Lynn Kara Joyce of STARCO was placed fourth in 25.29 seconds, while Madison Kennedy of UN04PC finished fifth in 25.30 seconds. Samantha Woodward of STANPC settled sixth in 25.33 seconds, whereas, AnneMarie Botek wound up seventh on the podium in a time of
25.46 seconds. Lia Neal of Aguamr was placed eighth in a time of 25.48 seconds.
Margo Geer of FORDAZ and Kaitlyn Flederbach were tied for ninth spot in 25.49 seconds. Melissa Franklin of STARCO finished eleventh in 25.53 seconds, while Kristen Vredeveld of BAYSE was placed twelfth in a time of 25.61 seconds.
Meanwhile, Nathan Adrian of CALPC won the Men’s 50m freestyle heat with a winning time of 22.14 seconds. Jason Lezak of ROSECA wound up second in 22.28 seconds, while James Feigen of TXLAST was placed third on the podium with a time of 22.30 seconds. Garrett
Webergale finished fourth in 22.34 seconds and Nicholas Brunelli of MACNC was placed fifth in a time of 22.36 seconds.
Adam Small of FORDAZ was placed sixth in a time of 22.43 seconds, while Josh Schneider of MACNC finished seventh in 22.47 seconds. Karl Krug of AUBSE and Bryan Lundquist settled in a tie for eighth position in a time of 22.54 seconds. Matthew Grevers of
FORDAZ and Alexander Coville of STANPC also tied for the tenth spot in a similar time of 22.56 seconds.
