i found out today to my surprise that me and my friend had a warrant for our arrest for supposedly stealing milk and bananas from wal-mart totaling $16. I remember going that day and getting all that and going thru the self check out, im going to watch the video tomorrow but the only thing that i could think that could have happened is that i scanned everything and just honestly forgot to pay for everythin, i was picking up groceries and i was paying with her check card so there was no incentive for me steak purposely. Is there some kind of minimum to be charged with larceny or does anybody have any advice because i made an honest mistake and i have never gotten in any type of trouble and now im being charged with this for accidentally taking $16 worth of milk and bananas from wal-mart

  1. There is no minimum, stealing anything of value is theft.

However, if you are going in voluntarily, and the video supports your claim that it was an error, I seriously doubt they will press charges.

  2. Misdemeanor theft ranges from $0.01 to $250.  The video should hopefully exonerate you...I would suggest bringing the money with you!
