  1. I guess it's totally a Carpenter Bee, as it really make loud buzzing sound, i often saw it in the huge tree backyard..:

  2. Carpenter bees and bumble bees are belong to different subfamilies.  The Carpenter bee belongs to the subfamily Xylocopinae; the Bumble bee belong to the subfamily Apinae. (honey bees also belong to this family.) A tribe of Apinae is the Bombini and it is recognized by its robust shape and black and yellow coloration.

Your description fits the Carpenter bee. They are dark in color, mine are a metallic blue/green, and are robust like bumblebees.  They make galleries in wood, here they like cedar and redwood a growing tree or the side boards of a house. They nest in my shed and I welcome them back every year. But I will need to replace the eve boards on my shed soon.

  3. Probably a carpenter bee.

  4. I don't know where you live but at this time of the year, especially during hot summers, the "june bugs" come out...they are horrid looking, darkish brown bugs, large like beetles (actually belong to the beetle family), they are active mainly after dusk and at night, they fly, and they make a buzzing sound...Something particular of the june bugs is that they don't see very well so they fly around banging into walls, furniture, doors, windows etc. and they fall to the floor with a thump, then they buzzzz as they try to get up again.
