  1. The usual worry comes from the misconception that the LHC may produce a mini-black hole that will eat the world. This worry is baseless. What they will be colliding at the LHC are protons which basically are fermions. Fermions behave in accordance with the Fermi - Dirac Statistics and obey the Pauli's Exclusion Principle. NO TWO MASSES CAN OCCUPY THE SAME SPACE AT THE SAME TIME. So how can two protons fuse to form a virtual particle that converts into a black hole? Some people are just plain afraid of the dark.


  2. Not too much,because if it malfunctions,the  energy left may  not be able to spread quickly to the surronding countries an would just affect does that created it.
