Question:

Large Pony Striding?

I have a 14.1 1/2 large pony, and I want to do some jumping on my own time. I am pretty sure that large pony strides are usually only 3 or 4 feet under horse strides, meaning 9 feet? I believe that you have to account for take off an landings... so would it be: land (1. 2) 1.2.3.4 2.2.3.4 3.2.3.4 4.2.3.4 (1.2) for a four stride? How long should my pacing be? Is there any good websites that I can use to find good information on this sort of thing?

thank you.

  1. I have a 16.1 Appendix and his stride is pretty normal but i have to take a pretty big step. your step should be (I'm pretty average height) pretty close to normal, but maybe bigger. you could also measure with a long measuring tape. In feet, divide by 12 and you get the striding for a large pony. if it was a horse i believe you take away a stride.

about the counting, i stand to the back of the fence and start walking from there.

you could google( I love google) pony stride measuring.

    it might work.
