I wanted to know if you can take a tower pc (16x14x7inches) as carry-on. I'm flying with american airlines and I'm still not sure how to take it to south america.

  1. You might be able to, but part of it is too big.

your carry on can't exceed this:

    9 x 14 x 22 in/22 x 35 x 55 cm (length + width + height) or 45 linear in/112 linear cm (the length, height and width added together).

I think its better if you shipped it (you know, send it to South America as a package) because its kind of a hassle to carry it and there isnt much space on board. Also, you wouldnt have room for the stuff that you can do onboard.

  2. well honestly im not sure but i belive .   no current plane law won't let you take has a care on .  however  be fore transporting the pc i would if i were you remove the hard form the pc  . and transport has part of your care on.   the hard drive contat all the info on your pc .  so i personal like to keep it with me .  also with out the hard they can use the pc at all.   make sure to wrap it in a anti-static  bag.     and the rest of the tower has a check on bag wrap ether in a box with a lot of the stirfon thing  and a ever clean sign fragrantly  in many different languages.   and deffenly keep the hard drive with you in a anti static bag  lock some where  in your care on. and don't take you eyes off that hard drive it the most important part off your pc.  an ship the tower in a box the can lock. with a good pad lock .    that how i ship it .

    good luck
