The amount was 404 million dollars, to the Colcom Foundation, National Tropical Botanical Garden, Nature Conservancy of Hawaii

Buffett pledged to give the foundation 10 million shares of stock in the company he runs his investments through, Berkshire Hathaway, in allotments over a stretch of time.... He did not give that much money (30.7 billion) in one lump sum... So he is paying it over years.. you asked for "the LARGEST SINGLE donation" He has split his money into 5..thats  right 5!!! charity orginizations, and pays them over a period of time. Although I will give it to him.. he is a generous man although that is why i SPECIFICALLY said "MONEY WISE" at the top of my post, Warren Buffet gave shares to his company, NOT money..
