Larry Beinfest takes criticism positively as speculations of his sacking grow - MLB News
President of baseball operations for the Miami Marlins’ Larry Beinfest shows graciousness as he accepts the criticism which is increasing after every defeat of his team. He is under the spotlight thanks to the dismal season the Marlins have so far. Beinfest
believes the denouncement is legitimate because the fans’ expectations were high before the start of the season.
The Marlins entered into the season with star-studded roster. With the inauguration of their new Marlins ballpark and the presence of expensive players on the roster, the fans were entertaining hopes for achieving something substantial this year.
However as of now they are out of contention which means that sweeping changes in the management staff may be imminent.
In light of this the speculations are doing the round that Beinfest may be ousted and assigned some other role in the team.
However the Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria has refused to comment on this believing that talking about him regarding this aspect at this time of the season is unfair.
As per the contract Beinfest will stay with the organisation until 2015. However keeping in view the performance of the team under him, he can be removed from his present role for the next year.
Irrespective of the rumours and the criticism, Beinfest is trying to focus on the task at-hand which is improving the winning percentage of the team. Beinfest is engaged in activities regarding the steps that can be taken in order to make sure the Marlins
begin winning matches.
Beinfest is aware of the possible announcements about his future that can be made by the organisation. Realising that he has failed to see his team on the top of the Division table, he takes the blame and is ready to face whatever comes his way now.
“When you sign up for this job and you don’t win, you know you can be in the crosshairs and you can lose your job. That’s just the way it is,” Beinfest said. “The blame and disappointment and all those things fall squarely on my shoulders, and I fully understand
that.”
By the time the season concludes, one thing is for sure that the Marlins will take important decisions regarding both the players and the team officials. Let’s see whether Beinfest remains in the Marlins after this season or not.
