Larry Britton retires from the position of Head Trainer at Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Head Trainer Larry Britton draws curtain on his long-term association of 36 years with the club.
The announcement was made on December 16 by the 61-year-old, which was later confirmed by Bulldogs the same day.
Britton has spent his lifetime at the club and is making his exit from the Bulldogs at a very high note with over three decades of hard work and dedication. He virtually saw his side blossom into a much stronger squad after he joined them back in 1976.
While talking about it, Britton shared that he devoted a big chunk of his life to the Bulldogs and now is bowing out of his association with a happy heart. It appears that Bulldogs’ long-time association has been a very nourishing experience for him, where
he has made lifelong friends. He also acknowledged that during his stay at the club, he came across some wonderful players, great coaches, officials and staff. This explains why Britton acknowledges that he is checking out of Canterbury with happy memories.
Glancing over the time spent with Bulldogs, Britton said, “Looking back on my career with the club, I was lucky enough to be involved in 10 grand finals in an era in which the Bulldogs were one of the most successful clubs in the game.”
Before checking out of the Bulldogs’ platform, Britton grabbed the opportunity to thank a couple of important people, without whom he would not have enjoyed the same level of success.
In his thank you note, Britton thanked the late great “Peter ‘Bullfrog’ Moore” and admitted that he, “was instrumental in my being selected to work with Australian and NSW State of Origin teams over a long period of the 80’s and 90’s. I would like to thank
Peter Moore and Barry Nelson, as well as the numerous great administrators and coaches I have worked under in my time at the club, as well as those I worked with at representative level.”
Britton went on and added that his stint at the club had been one of the most successful ones, which saw them experience success at a whole new level. He also acknowledged that he loved his club a lot and wished them an even brighter and prosperous future
in times yet to come.
