Larry Brown speaks about the frustration in his time with the Charlotte Bobcats – NBA Update
In a recent interview on "The Dan Patrick Show", SMU coach Larry Brown spoke about all the problems and the bridge of communication he had to face with the Charlotte Bobcats owner, Michael Jordan in his time there.
"It's one thing for me to get fired, but I have four or five assistants and they're out there not able to work," – Brown said.
Since his departure, things have been constantly falling apart for the Bobcats considering the fact they were a playoff bound team in Brown`s tenure and look at where they find themselves now. Bobcats are on their way to setting
the worst winning percentage in the NBA history.
The particular time in question was the 2009-10 year when Brown guided the Bobcats to their first and only playoff experience with a 44-38 win-loss record.
Failing to impress much in the start of the next season, Brown was replaced with Paul Silas and the Bobcats have continuously been in a downfall.
Along with losing a job, Brown saw his relationship with Jordan come to an end after the firing incident. However he does believe it is not Jordan`s fault, He believes it to be the fault of the people that have surrounded Jordan
in the Bobcats administration and Brown does not like what he sees.
“I was sick about it. I haven't spoken to him since. I don't like seeing what's going on." – said, Brown on the matter.
In response to Brown`s comments, Jordan came out of Wednesday to address these issues and is pretty aware of why Brown is so critical of him at the moment.
"I imagine he was pretty upset we chose to change directions," Jordan said
In recent years even though Jordan has been criticized for several of his decisions, the most prominent being the Kwame Brown saga but He believes that on the business end, they are in a very good situation.
"Ever since I've owned the team (starting in March 2010), I think we've made some very positive moves on the business side. We had to make a difficult decision to turn over the (on-court) talent. This year the talent we had didn't
respond, but that doesn't cause me to turn my back on the plan." – Jordan said
With one game remaining in the season, Bobcats face the daunting task of defeating the New York Knicks to avoid going down in the record books.
Michael describes the current season as a scrutiny and a very tiring season. However Jordan intends to remain focused and live with the choices he has made so far.
We may not know for sure of what Jordan has on his mind. However if he believes that they are on a right path, well, you cannot change a man’s approach.
